Alan, If the kerbside detector is set up and working properly there would not = be any delays to peds from cancelled demands. All you would have is the = benefit to drivers. I know there has been many issues with kerbside detection in the past = but I have found the new AGD600 series optical detector works = brilliantly. It uses a video image to set up the detection zone and you = can even set it up to allow for people who press the button and then = take a few steps backwords. Then again you may have already tried something similar and found it = didn't work ??? =20 Scott Denyer IEng MICE Engineer - Urban Traffic Control =20 Phone 01738 476517 Fax 01738 476510 Mobile 07771 814816 =20 -----Original Message----- From: tcug-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:tcug-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On = Behalf Of Shailes Alan Sent: 16 June 2004 10:11 To: 'tcug@xxxxxxxxxxxxx' Subject: [TCUG] Re: american ped phases idea Delays to peds I mean - we have made a judgement that the benefit to = drivers of using kerbsides is smaller than the delays caused to peds by = cancelled demands =20 A l a n=A0 S h a i l e s =20 =20 -----Original Message----- From: Sharon Healy [mailto:Sharon_Healy@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx]=20 Sent: 16 June 2004 09:51 To: tcug@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [TCUG] Re: american ped phases idea How does not using kerbside detectors reduce delays? *************************************************************************= *** ********************* The information contained within this e-mail (and any attachment) sent = by Birmingham City Council is confidential and may be legally privileged. = It is intended only for the named recipient or entity to whom it is addressed. = If you are not the intended recipient please accept our apologies and = notify the sender immediately, or telephone +(44) 121 303 6666.
