As for "one standard", most people breed to the standard. Again you seem
to disregard the humanness of the owners and their individual STYLE. That
interpretation is what causes the differences in the dogs we see. Then ad
to it
that the judges award their own interpretation and preference of style and
it is a continuous circle.

I am pretty sure he was being serious, and joking at the same time. In
theory, I believe he is correct. I would bet money that the majority on this
list, deep down, believe as he does.
I do believe that Specialty Judges, as a whole, have a much better idea as
to the true essence of the Breed. Not all AB Judges are willing, or have the
time, to really learn the Breed. As a result, there is no way on earth
he/she (in general) will ever know the Breed as a specialist (in general)
does.
That is not a put down, just the facts, as well as common sense.
