Sally, we all prefer German shepherds, or we wouldn't be on this list, right ? Your attitude (not you) is too elitist for the good of the breed. We need good judges who know shepherds. Most KCs can no longer hire a judge for only one breed. Therefore, to get knowledgeable judges into the ab ring, the "specialists" need to be approved for more breeds. You could make a difference in the "two different breeds" syndrome. Carolyn ++++++++++++++++++++++++ I am elitist- When I give my time (usually ends up 3 days) Stand for hours in the middle of the ring judging no matter what the weather, it is on my terms- I don't want an AKC rep looking over my shoulder, don't want to wait for the ring to get emptied so I can judge, nor do I want to have to hurry so another judge can get in it. I can't think of a worse case scenario then for a judge to acquire other breeds who is not interested in them. I don't want to do to other breeds what is done to our breed so often I am not condemning allbreed judges- Everyone should do their own thing. If specialists wanted to judge other breeds I am sure they would look into it. ============================================================================ POST is Copyrighted 2005.
