Yes my experience is based on the one experience. Incidentally I also used
the Contax turret finder once and didn't get on with that either.

I knew that it is much better to use a m with frame lines.

As Hauke pointed out the original discussion was about the Rollei 35, yours
was the post in which the camera became a "modified version" with the hot
shoe rf at the bottom- as impractical as that may be.

In sum if hot shoe rf are the best go for it. I won't be buying one nor
losing sleep about not having one.

I trust you do know what you're talking about, I'm not that bothered though.

Marvin.

So all of your voluminous opinions about aux rangefinders are based on a
single experience...

I had a Leica rf. It was so cumbersome that I just reverted to using an M3.
Eye on eye of the subject was simply tedious. Other than that I have never
bothered, to go with the hot shoe rf appendage since it's not necessary, I
figure much superior design compromises are available, built in rf. Though
I am tempted to buy a 4x5 Polaroid with a hot shoe rf.

OK, let's have a little reality check here... have you ever used an
aux rangefinder? If so, which ones? On which cameras?
