We have discussed the cost of digital at great length on this List and on other camera lists for years. Where have YOU been? My figures are middle of the road, drawn from the experiences of others and from my own research. They are hardly "balderdash".

Yeah, I have a digital p&s and I have Irfanview, so I can do a quick shot when necessary of an item to illustrate a hardware issue. This is not a "quality" product, but it is useful.

What I am discussing is a digital equivalent to, say, my Hasselblad and Rolleiflex and Leica gear and my enlargers with their APO lenses. I do not see how I could match that quality in digital for less than $35,000 -- and I would have the additional cost of constantly upgrading every six months or a year as new stuff came out. Top of the line, my lad, not junk.
