Ralph,

I agree. Wish it weren't so, but that's been my experience for so long, I've 
come to accept it too.  ASA 400 (advertised)= ASA 2-300 (actual) most of the 
time, if I'm interested in shadow detail or there's more than a 3 stop 
brightness range in the scene.
