David,
Is there anyway of copying the contents of drive D (the recovery stuff)
to CD in case the hard drive fails? I've often wondered about this set
up on HPs. My old Pavilion had recovery disks but this is on drive D.

Thanks
Ange

Funny that they now come from the same corporate structure.

One big thing that I don't like with the new HP/Compaqs is that
they
don't come with recovery discs. All the recovery stuff is on a
partition on the hard drive. How they get away with this when
you're to
be given a hard copy of any software they put on is beyond me.
If the
HD fails you're stuck shelling out $50 or so dollars for a
recovery CD
with the OS on it. (that's after warranty).

And if you ever need tech support, forget about it. HP/Compaq is
worse
than Dell in my opinion, and Dell's support is nonexsistent.
I've got
customers who come to me before they ever call Dell or
HP/Compaq, even
when the computer is under warranty.

No problem with three here, other than cleaning all the crap off
them
before I could use them. (G) HP is infested with junk/trial
programs
and a good case of backweb. The computers seem to be good,
though...not
as good as a custom, but not junky like a Compaq either.
(Apologies to
        Compaq
        owners.)
