oh! I got a request from someone on plaxo - It ticked me off!!
she happens to know all of my personal information - which I thought was fine.
but lo and behold - she has it all in her address book - and plaxo - I got this
thing
requesting verification of everything !! I was shocked!!
I was going to tell her to please remove everything, but she wrote back soon
afterwards
and said she decided to not use the program and not to bother sending it back.
still - is my information now on file at plaxo?
this is the same gal who loves finding internet sites, and puts my address in
them
for them to send me their information. I've asked her to please not do that.
She can send me
a url of the site without plugging my e-mail address in. I gave her a yahoo
address to use,
and explained that my isp gave me that new address to cut down on spam, and I
was absoluteyl
NOT to use it anywhere on the net deliberately! then my friend goes and plugs
it in everywhere!!
she changes e-mail addresses fairly often, so hasn't been hit with spam yet -
just wait!
but she was angry with me for being upset with her for doing that - was I
wrong?

just my 0.02 here...

I don't feel that it is my responsibility to prove that my posts to this
list are not spam. everyone here has to deal with spam on their own and in
their own fashion. if the person who sub'ed up with spam arrest doesn't get
my posts, so be it... I just have to hope that it wasn't his/her question I
was answering... after all, that person sub'ed to this list as well, and
that would lead one to believe that they wanted emails generated by the list
in the first place. I deleted the request and imagine I will be getting
another one forthright...

and I feel the same way about plaxo - it is not my intention to keep up
someone else's address book, if you know me, you know my email address.
and if you look at their [plaxo's - I haven't looked up spam arrest's]
privacy statement, it states that should they be sold out, their databases -
which include any email addresses - will be considered an asset and sold
forthright.

can any one say canned mystery meat?

: Yes, I've received it as well and the Mods are dealing with it. It's
: a new issue and we wanted to think about it amongst ourselves first.
