all i can say is WOW! I think my issue with my Me machine may have had more to
do with Comcast than my pc, although I never bothered with any type of upgrade
in hardware except to add another larger harddrive. I've actually never
bothered to count how many dbx files I have on here, but if there's something I
just HAVE to save, it's usually in "my documents" in a folder somewhere saved
as an .eml file. you are definitely a pat rack Gman, lol.

Sandy,
I have every post from this group that has ever come into my Inbox (it
doesn't include anything I missed during my 3 years offline, though). I
also still have every post from every other group I've ever run or
moderated. Add to that, a ton of tech-oriented newsletters, personal
messages from friends and relatives, etc. and my OE is currently keeping
track of over 7GB worth of DBX files. I have no clue as to how many
messages that is, but it's a LOT more than 4,000 or even 40,000.

OE can handle it as long as the hardware can. I have a rather
simplistic approach to OE maintenance & backup and I have never deviated
from it. As a result (or perhaps in spite of them), I have never had most
of the issues that we see come through the group from time to time. :O)

Peace,
Gman
