Under Tools> general> there is a box to put in how many minutes you would like
to check for new mail, I have mine set on 14 minutes , so I don't get
disconnected so often from my ISP. I wonder if that option with cable would
start up your computer if it was idle & off ?
just a thought , I have had so many weird things happen with mine, so I
question a lot :)

I'm on a cable - regular computer - I've never had it restart my computer! the
cable may go off a second here and there, but how could it restart a computer?

May I ask if you are on a dial up or cable service? I have heard that cable
