Good points! Run spybot or adaware or both - and I always run on line panda
virus checker when something is acting odd- just because so many things can come
in and disable the computer's anti-virus and you don't know until it is too
late.

do you have a firewall??

It's very, very unlikely that the connection is causing this. If they have
these problems and they are *certain* no virus is involved, then maybe we
shouldn't rule out the possibility that someone, through a backdoor or a
direct hack, has gained access to the computer or an attempt has been made
and the computer is trying to reboot to activate the payload in the registry.
Cable is always on and there never should be a reason for the cable
connection to reboot the computer. Something very fishy is going on.

Possibly a hardware problem could also cause this. I doubt very seriously
that the cable connection is directly to blame.
