The start menue displays my programs, my documents, my computer, my
networks, my music, my pictures, control panel, help and support, search,
and run. I want to see RECENT Documents displayed.

Does the Start Menu display both MY DOCUMENTS and MY RECENT DOCUMENTS?

If yes, which list are you wanting to clear?
If no, which list IS displayed?

Both can be set to be NOT DISPLAYED if you don't ever want to see them
again.
