Hi Jan,
I saved this post from the past and this is what it said:
<snip>
Sounds as if she may have saved the document as normal.dot. I'd start by
renaming normal.dot and restarting Word. That should take care of the
problem.
<snip>
I think if you rename your normal.dot file to something like normal.old
and then re-open Word, you will have created a new normal.dot template
for yourself.
Thanks,
Michele B. Wong

Subject: [mso] Old Problem with normal doc
Hello all,
I wrote about his problem quite a few months ago, but due to my seniors
illness it got put aside until she was better.
The following is a summary of the problem that still needs resolving:
She wrote a letter and somehow saved it on the 'Normal document' so now
every time she clicks on New instead of getting a blank document she
gets this same letter. I have tried to delete the Normal doc but it is
in 'data applications & believe it or not I can't find 'Data
Application" within her office program. I even ran a search and cannot
find it. Now on my computer it is easily found. She is running XP. I
got so frustrated that I uninstall the Office program & reinstalled it
and that didn't change anything. Every time she clicks on New that darn
letter appears. It is driving her crazy & she is driving me crazy.
Please offer some solution.
Thanks
Jan
