Right click on the icon in the task menu. Excel and all workbooks will be
listed. Select the close group option.

This suggestion seems to assume that you have grouped similar taskbar
buttons. Some of us (me) have unchecked that so for those like me this
suggestion does not apply. For those like me, each workbook has it's own
option in the taskbar.
