Yes, you can read a file from Excel macro. But you
can't copy and paste it. If you want to make a
particular selection you need to bookmark the file for
the begining and end of the selection. It basically
depends upon your macro program and ofcourse you may
define your own bookmarks.

For this you cannot record a macro. You have to write
a code for reading the file. Refer 'Input' Statement
documentation for read and write a file from Excel
visual basic editor. Start reading line by line
between your selection and write the value to the
excel cell. This is ofcourse you can use it for
relative cells or it can be selected.
