AJ- Yes and No, you can use an Excel Macro to import a text file, but you can't make it search a text file and import from a certain row. Basically it's all or nothing. I have been following this thread loosely and admittedly I don't remember the original question, but I did write a Macro that will import a text file of two tab spaced columns, then writes those two columns to rows in a workbook. If you want I'll send you the Macro code and the text file I used. -Anthony -----Original Message----- From: AJ Dalton [ mailto:a_j_dalton@xxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Wednesday, April 30, 2003 12:32 PM To: mso@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [mso] Excel Question RE: "Instead of writing macro for Copy and Paste, better you may write a macro to read the file and fill the contents in excel with your desired format..." Can a Macro open a (Notepad) file and select and copy/paste info into a Spreadsheet? I only thought that it did things withing Excel. ************************************************************* You are receiving this mail because you subscribed to mso@xxxxxxxxxxxxx or MicrosoftOffice@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx To send mail to the group, simply address it to mso@xxxxxxxxxxxxx To Unsubscribe from this group, send an email to mso-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the word "unsubscribe" (without the quotes) in the subject line.
