Cliff

On the majority of Brittish locomotives the right hand crank pin leads
the left by 90 Deg which is the way round I've got them and in any case
if they were the opposite way round the engine should still run and run
correctly except that the left hand wheels would be in advance of the
right hand ones by 90 Deg.....just think of the two sides of the loco
comprising of two separate engines each individually timed and
independent of the other one............now if your talking three
cylinder conjucated valve gear then................

Thanks for the thoughts though, my initial diagnosis is that there is a
fundamental design flaw, I believe the bobbins may be the wrong length
or more likely the ports have not been machined in the valve liners very
accurately......now that is some grief to put right.

HI,
You havn't by chance got the standard Winson problem of the wheels in
the wrong way round.? This may sound daft but their instuctions never
seem to state which side the leading crankpin should be on.
