Mike is one of the most important
people in my life. And you, you are a god damn fool. Good riddance.

So now we have an in-group and an out-group. Congratulations, Erin. We're back in junior high school. We've really evolved here.

Irene, I'm sorry to bring this up at 4am, but you are truly an idiot. Against
my better sense (initially I had planned to sleep), I opted to read all these
emails, and clearly you have not read any of the messages that Mike and I have
sent to one another over the past lord knows how many years. Mike is one of
my best friends, in fact, one of the most amazing people I've ever met, and
one of the few people that has been there for me through everything (except on
Wednesday and Saturday nights, with due reason, but I rarely hold that against
him). After one trip on my part to Memphis, two trips on his part to Toronto,
and one meeting of ours in San Francisco, countless e mails and hours of dull
yet utterly enriching conversation, I feel free to joke with him about pretty
much everything, which, trust me, he takes the liberty to joke with me about.
I've had the honour to meet part of Mike's family, and people who are dear to
him, and I've cherished every monent. Mike is one of the most important
people in my life. And you, you are a god damn fool. Good riddance.

I also dislike when people give "Over the Hill" birthday cards, but try to
find one that doesn't have some variation of that. It all speaks to how
normal it is to insult someone and call it "love". But that's the way
humans are, they'll fight tooth and nail to be jerks. Not you
specifically, everybody is that way.
