La chiave è la probabilità. Entrambe le cose (castelli di carte
antisismici e bunker che crollano per una brezza primaverile) sono
possibili, ma hanno probabilità diverse di verificarsi, e non mi pare
proprio il caso di metterle sullo stesso piano.

It is interesting to note that most traditional Japanese houses do not
incorporate diagonal braces. This is intentionally done to keep the
building structure resilient and many inventive lumber joints absorb
earthquake energy. The traditional construction technology is the
result of accumulated experiences through centuries. Nails are not
usually used since nails do not last very long. The fact that
buildings with such resilient (and not solid) structure have survived
through many earthquakes (some over 1000 years) justifies the
correctness of such structure in Japan.

Case tradizionali "non resistenti ai sismi"? Da quel che leggo mi
sembrano costruite per durare, o per quantomeno per essere riparate
facilmente, oltre che per non ammazzare nell'eventualità che crollino.

Cmq, per ritornare nel seminato: i linguaggi non sono tutti equivalenti,
le architetture nemmeno, e quelli che richiedono maggior disciplina sono
quelli in cui è più facile introdurre nuovi errori.
Qualitativamente parlando, due linguaggi Turing-completi qualsiasi si
equivalgono in toto, ma la differenza tra loro è tutta quantitativa (più
o meno tempo, più o meno probabilità di introdurre errori, più o meno
esperienza/disciplina richiesta al programmatore/architetto).
Quello che non capisco è: perché "use strict;" e "-W" non sono il
default, visto che nella documentazione si dice a più riprese che
nessuno sano di mente ne farebbe a meno per tutto ciò che supera il
pugno di righe?
