Thanks for setting me straight, I had not considered the metering aspect in
regards to the beam splitter, semi silvered mirror. There is a wealth of
information on this group with very experienced and knowlegable persons, I
am happy to be able to learn from you all. S

A circular polarizer should be used with any camera that has a beam-splitter
between the light source and the meter cell.  Every Leica SLR from the SL to
the R9 qualifies because the semi-silvered mirror acts as a beam splitter.
