Freelists seems to be doing a good job at preventing trawling from the list
archive, munging addresses in headers, attributions, body text and
signatures. So its more quite likely that there is a compromised PC on the
list. If anyone is foolish enough to be using a Windows machine, please
ensure it is adequately protected from viruses and spyware, or remove it from
the internet.
