Presumably, if it > was a software fault with the boot, the problem would occur on > every boot-up. > Dave Lane I had this exact problem when my PSU was starting to go and soon afterwards the Network I/F started to also not appear on boot up. Since changing the PSU I have not had any more occurences of this erratic startup behaviour.
