Hi,
I also had soem idea of doing RH certification. When i
was enquiring with my friends, a few suggested that i
can do it on my own if i am really interested as a lot
of books and help are available. He also adivced to
get the help of ppl who have done it.
Its happy many are interested in doing certification. At the same
time what your friend said will work out if you can spend time
dedicated to practicing linux and there is someone who can help you
everytime you have a problem and most important teach you the basics.
But when i
bought the book for RHCE exam it said that i need
atleast a couple of systems running RHEL while i have
only a single system with RH9. Though i can get RHEL
or follow other methods prescribed when we dotn find
RHEL, but without another system i am not able to
practixe networking with mine.
It is true you need a network to practice as you need to simulate
certain senarios which might need atleast 2-3 systems.
And also thee statistics say that the pass rate of 1st
timers is very low, infact the overall pass% itself is
only around 40%.
Can you please tell me where you got these statistics. Also never
believe in statistics fully as it depends on the persons who have
taken the statistics. Also if it is for the total amount who took up
the exam them you should also consider the practice the candidate
would have had.
Never believe in statistics if they can bring your hopes down
instead of you taking it as a challenge.
With right amount of practice and hard-work any exam is not tough
for even first timers.
