they promise 96hrs of classes(all practical)
i do not know how they will make it to go to 3 months..
u do not have to write the exam immedietly after the course..
u can take ur own time..
but if u fail, Rs 10,000 is gone with the wind..
u should pay another 10,000 to write the exam again..
certification is current for 2 releases of RHEL
that is around 3 years from Feb 2005 if u write in RHEL 4.
if u are new to linux/unix, 96 hrs will help you cover only the basics.
IMHO i do not think a newbie will be ready for RHCE just after
96 hrs of teaching..u can just get ur feet wet in 96 hrs.
if u are confortable with basics then go ahead..
if not, take a couple of months to learn RH linux.
once u learn the basics u will atleast be able to grasp what the tutor
means to say.
As far as teaching goes I guess it all depends on the person teaching
you.. if he is well versed, u should be ready to extract information
from him. not every one who knows unix is as nice as the people in this
forum. i know some unix/solaris/linux admins who never open their mouth
to share their knowledge.. they guard it as if it is their family secret.
a lot of people think LINUX = REDHAT. and lot of them happen to be
in the HR dept of some big companies.. So RHCE will work better than
other linux certfications in India as far as employment is concerned.
