With regards to making my own, I have the knowledge and probably the know
how but can't be arsed ?!?! ( I think that's the patience bit missing
then??) I hadn't thought about using it as a mixing desk though so that
opens my eyes when buying.

Nope I only have a PC160 Roland (one slider and a mod wheel)
I will look at your suggestions but am unsure as to how this becomes a midi
controller?
Thanks all, I guess my main question of "is it easy to do and have people
done it" is answered. I have a couple of options to look at and have taken
on board your comments.

PS I think I will end up with a spin doctor as its cheap and will probably
do what I need.
