I've used TridiaVNC and the original VNC from AT&T Labs (now spun off and
called RealVNC -- see www.realvnc.com). TridiaVNC (the free version)
hasn't seen any development work in awhile that I can tell, while the other
VNC variants have made several enhancements. I had problems with TridiaVNC
crashing on an AW51E, but RealVNC seems to work fine. The only caveat is
that it can consume 5% or so of the AW's CPU at times, so having a lot of
users hitting the AW using VNC may not be a good idea.
VNC is usable over our VPN to a DSL-connected PC, but the latency is
definitely detectable and annoying for long periods of use or heavy
typing/editing. I can't imagine it's all that great over dial-up, but it
probably beats X.

GoGlobal vs Exceed.... How about TridiaVNC?
Has anybody tried using the free package TridiaVNC with Foxboro?
Does it work well over phone line connections?

Or you can check out Ron Deen's excellent write-up on how to set up the
different X applications, available for the price of a download at the
