Regarding VNC:

The latest version is 3.3.6.  You get it from 
http://www.realvnc.com/download.html.  We use it from PC to PC all the time 
in the office.  It also comes on the Linux 8.0 distribution.  It's also on 
the I/A Goodies CD (Solaris, Windows, and docco).
