O... Depending on how comfortable you are with the motif I don't think that
would be a problem, would probably be more reliable than a laptop and
definitely less to carry.

i would just be playing some midi files with the drums, bass, and back up
instrument tracks already sequenced. it's just cover songs that we're
performing.

What exactly are you doing? I use the motif's pattern mode to do
preprogrammed drumming, setup multipl instruments that I'll need etc. Works
well. I can do a pattern from 1 to 32 measures, and have 16 variations to
mess with... Sometimes I even drop the quantizing and just record freeely,
gives it a more "live" groove, nobody could tell the difference, if it
wasn't for the fact that there's no drummer sitting at the set lol.

Hello,

I'm going to start gigging live soon and wanted to hear some thoughts. I'll
be using a Motif ES6 to play midi sequences. My question is: if my band
performs around 30 songs a night, would it be more efficient to just use the
motif's playback capabilities to run the sequenced files, or would it be
more beneficial to use a laptop to handle the operation?

Thank you for all input.
