I use the motif's pattern mode to do preprogrammed drumming, setup multipl instruments that I'll need etc. Works well. I can do a pattern from 1 to 32 measures, and have 16 variations to mess with... Sometimes I even drop the quantizing and just record freeely, gives it a more "live" groove, nobody could tell the difference, if it wasn't for the fact that there's no drummer sitting at the set lol.
