That's not true either! You can change the quality of the export by
choosing the different profiles.

I wasn't trying to suggest that it's very difficult, but it's a longer
process to set up and doesn't allow to selecting different bitrates on the
fy, you have to manually change the settings if you want a igher or lower
bitrate.
The installed version allows for changing settings as part of the mix down
procedure, much more efficient.
But hey, if you're the hands on type and would rather spend the $20 on
something else, go for it!
