Wow! Sounds great Sheila,
The lyrics are perfect and I like the flow of the song. I hope one of these
wiring wizards gives you the missing link you need to be able to use that
microphone on a separate track. Then you will have something that sounds
totally professional.
Good luck and keep trying all their suggestions,
Mark

Thanks for all your suggestions, everyone. Couldn't get the mic to work with
the mixing board, so I got the level up in the Motif and used that instead.
I have rough vocals and a rough mix now and will sleep on it before trying
to do more with it. Here's a link if anyone wants to give it a listen and
offer suggestions. It's very schmaltzy, was asked to write it for a high
school reunion.

Apart from the Mackie not having the relevant channels' input selected to
mike input, if the mixer has buss buttons adjacent to the faders, maybe one
of these hasn't been selected/de-selected?

I'm working with the Motif and Sonar and have a mic just going in to
an old Mackie mixing board which usually is fine. I've created an audio
track and it is armed and not muted. The mic sounds live enough in my ear
phones, and Motif sounds will record on to this track. However, the vocal
isnt going there isn't recording as far as I can tell, no peak level. Can
anyone tell me what I'm missing? thanks in advance for any suggestions you
may have.
