Well, Lex, as president of the company that exclusively distributes the
CakeTalking for SONAR scripts and tutorial product, I am far from an
objective source (grin)! However, I would like you to consider that
CakeTalking does come with very detailed tutorials in the form of
Word/WordPad documents containing hundreds of pages of useful information
written specifically for the JAWS user. CakeTalking also comes with a
number of helpful "setup" documents that guide you through the process of
installing and configuring the software. There are six lessons devoted to
teaching you about your hardware accessories and their functions. We can
also provide you with valuable E-mail and telephone support so that you can
be sure everything is installed and configured correctly. To get the most
from SONAR, one needs to understand not just the software but how it
connects up to your soundcard, your mixer, your MIDI keyboard, etc. We can
help you to get all of those things working as they should.

We're currently completing a beta test of CakeTalking for SONAR 6. Until
it's officially released I can't say too much specifically but I can say
that, at present, CakeTalking for SONAR 6 gives you access to a number of
product features not currently supported by JSonar. More on that when we're
ready to release something. CakeTalking for SONAR 5 uses just 9 SONAR
keystrokes in a different way. Most of these keystrokes would probably be
unfamiliar to sighted SONAR users who would accomplish their functions using
a mouse. Nonetheless, CakeTalking for SONAR 6 will likely use a new,
pneumonic set of keystrokes to move to SONAR's various columns.

BTW, as a blind consumer and musician myself, I think it's cool that blind
people have at least two choices for an accessibility solution to SONAR. If
we were sighted, we'd have a bunch more. We're on good terms with the
JSonar guys, our friendly competitors, who, by the way, have built on a
foundation of JAWS scripts first created years ago by a number of people
including a significant contribution by Dancing Dots' own Gordon Kent. Of
course, I happen to think that CakeTalking is the best choice but, as others
have said here, it is a matter of opinion!

BTW, we'll be exhibiting at the annual ATIA conference in Orlando, Florida,
from Jan. 24-27. Just in case you're anywhere close to Orlando later this
month. I'd be happy to demo CakeTalking for SONAR 6 for anyone interested.

Regards,
Bill

So in all honesty, which scripts are the best, if I can say "best"... I
guess I need to say, which scripts are easier to function and easier to
understand, or is it a user opinion?
