have you tried going to the Mackie website and looking for drivers? I just did, and discovered something unexpected. According to the product page at:

http://www.mackie.com/products/mcupro/index.html
you don't need drivers. It says: " No Driver Required for Supported Windows (PC) or OS X (Mac) Versions"

I'm going to ask you something, and I do not mean it as an insult whatsoever. Are you relatively new to computers, at least when it comes to installing peripherals and getting things working? I'm only asking so I know what to include in instructions or leave out. I don't want to assume you know a bunch of stuff that you might not know.

That said, I don't own the specific hardware you are trying to set up, so others will need to jump in.

To be honest, I do not know where to look for the necessary Mackie drivers.
When I received the Mackie late last month, it didn't come with any dvd roms
with the Mackie drivers acquired.

Have you installed any drivers needed by the Mackie?
In Sonar, have you gone into Options > Midi Devices, and selected any ports
that say Mackie?

Have you then gone Options > Controllers/Surfaces, and made sure the Mackie
is listed? If it isn't listed, go to the Add button and add it.

Now, go to the Tools menu and hit enter on Mackie Control. Explore that
dialog.
IMPORTANT!: from within that dialog, hit F1 twice quickly and read the help
file that opens!!
