I, too, am talking about OvPro for Windows (aka OPW). But an Impression
file presumably originates from a RiscOS directory ... in my case a
RiscOS disk image on my WinPC. I was simply illustrating the procedure
I'm using for importing an Impression document into OPW ... note the bc5
extension.

Dave was originally describing trying to load an Impression /folder/:

Mr P. I cannot get this to work. I have an Impression publisher doc
folder called "!Sample" and nothing I seem to do will load it into
WinOvPro version 2.92 5th March 2008

You describe an Impression document with a ,bc5 extension. I've just looked out an Impression folder (took a while because it's been ages since I used this format!) and it did indeed fail to load into an OPW window, giving the error message "Error number 1".

But Impression /documents/ with an extension of ,bc5 load quite happily into an OPW window here (version 2.92, 15 March 2008).

You're quite right ... Dave did refer to an Impression *folder*. However, I'm not sure what the difference is between what you/Dave refer to as a "folder" and what I call a "document" ... ISTR that at some stage CC changed the file format, so that it had the characteristics of a "folder", tho' I may be talking complete pants. FWIW, all my Impression "files" will load into OPW, and some of them are quite complex "documents".
