I must expect it to be out there a while; as I just bought two new CF cards for storing audible. The DS50 is good for audible, but, even though the download takes forever, the bookport is best. You can keep the books on your cards and read whenever you want. Can't do that with DS50. I usually do first read on DS 50. Then, if i like it, put on the BP. When the Victor Reader Stream becomes audible ready, I'll probably get one, but as long as it works, my book port is best. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Gerald Purdy" <gerrypurdy@xxxxxxxxx>

Hello Ed, Go to www.bookcourier.com and click on contact us. This has the mailingaddress and phone number. I love my BP and have only had it a few months asI could not afford one before. I personally do not read NLS books as Iprefer Audible.com. But I also like the fact I can upload word files and web pages to the BP along with material I have scanned. I wish I had this devicewhen I was in grad school. I know one of the knocks on it is the size, however the battery life is the best. Hello chela, Thank you for replying to my post.I think that we are essentially on the same wave length as to the demise ofthe Bookport. I wish that APH would just come out and say that it is dead and for us to look for other sources for taking its place. I truly hope that Springer is designing a new Courier and that it will follow more in the foot steps of the Bookport than the VR Stream with its klunky file storage system. Does anyone on this list know the Springer address? If so I would like towrite them and see what kind of response I will get. I fear that it will bejust as nebulus as our inquires to APH concerning the Bookport.I would be contented with any hand held device book or music storage device with an ac/dc power supply and software to automatically save the files with what ever support files to file storage system might require, including thecapability to play NLS digital books. This is only a rough outline of essential requirements and I am sure that other list members could flesh it out with other options.I hope that this message might begin a discussion as how to get us a newdevice which meets all of our needs within reason! Come on folks, give it some serious thought and jump right in. Answer that query and you'll hopefully find all your answers within your explorations further to be done, if I make any sense? I don't mean to sound irritated at the fact we keep going around in circles about this product, but I'm appologizing in advance for any tone I may have with y'all, instead of complain about the new technologies being created for us as Visually Impaired persons, why don't we do somethin' about it, complainin' won't make anything better, the glass is half full, there is hope so let's strive to make the BP better by writing letters to the peoples who are involved in making technology for the many who are like us and hope for better results guys, it is not worth cryin' over spilt milk, ok? The bookport list is humming quite busily and so far no criticism from the moderator. I've heard a rumor that Springer, I believe the company who not only made the Courier, but also did the hardware for Bookport one is working on another Currier version. could it be Bookport 2 since APH seems to be asleep at the switch!Lets hear some reaction and comments or have I wasted my time in joiningthis list!
