You aren't looking in the right place.  Connect the bp and look for
the mp3 player in device manager.  If you don't know how to get to
device manager, hit start/run and type in devmgmt.msc and hit enter.
Tab around until you find the list and arrow through it.  Each
category can be opened with right arrow and once opened you can up and
down arrow through it.  Once you find the mp3 player, hit delete on
it.  I really don't know if this will help, but I'd try it on my
system if I were in your mess.
