Hmmm. OF course I don't print out what I validate; I'll have to test that out. 
You mean it makes a horizontal line when printed although it doesn't on the 
monitor? Actually, though, I don't think I've done 4 stars in a row when I've 
validated--just one or two or four with spaces between them. But when one does 
4 with spaces between them do the spaces get deleted by bookshare and thus the 
4 are in a row? And then do they create the line? I wish I could remember what 
books I've done that in recently so someone could check, but I can't.

But if it takes 4 to make a line, maybe one, two or three symbols can be used, 
or a combination.

BTW, my fingers seem to mis-hit the brackets when I occasionally use them and I 
have to undo the wrong one and fix it. I'm afraid the same thing will happen 
with carets.
