The volunteer site info hasn't been updated since January!!! I'd like to know how we're going to be certain that all validators do this kind of thing. I know that all volunteers are not on this list, not all have read or know about the volunteer manual that they're supposed to read, and I can't tell you how many bookshare books I've looked at that don't even have the proper number of page breaks, one of the few things that Bookshare actually requires. And, while I'm at it here, if we don't keep things simple, and submitters put in some sort of mark up that isn't obviously that to the serious novice, how can we guarantee that a validator won't remove them? I think this mark up thing is a good idea. I'm willing, very, to do it, but I think it needs a lot of forethought and planning before implementation. Because those of us who know nothing about html tags would get confused. It is best to keep it as simple as possible for us nearly computer illiterate types. In a message dated 9/9/2008 4:14:14 P.M. If we added the tags, it might make life a lot easier. I say go for it, but make them as close to existing tags as possible. Enclose them in < > and make the closing tag with a / as is normal in HTML. That's what I'd do if I were thee. Oh, turn on your punctuation to read this message properly, please. Ann P. -- Ann K.
