Pam, it is perfectly OK to replace M-dashes with double dashes for your own use, not though for books destined for publication on Bookshare. The long dash is a typographical symbol that should be preserved on Bookshare books. Thanks, Guido Guido D. Corona IBM Accessibility Center, Austin Tx. I was reading it with my braille lite, and it just showed the words together, no spaces or dashes. I bet I could change it so that it was displayed then. What I'm doing for now is having the m dash in a file with other symbols that I can't replicate on the keyboard, and replacing them with double dashes. Pam
