The problem is in someone watching the list is it might take a long time for
messages to get to the list. I agree that the list should be for bookshare
issues and scanning books only. It's all right to agree/disagree but could
we express it in a friendly way. Maybe the staff should set a policy of what
can be submitted and a policy on page breaks RTF or txt and we go for there.

I would also prefer the list, but would there be a way for the moderator, in
this case Marissa, to warn people if things stray too much off topic a
couple of times and then just ban them from the list if they don't adhere to
that policy. I'm on many mailing lists and several of them keep a pretty
tight ship to cut down on the number of messages one has to go through each
day. If worse came to worst, I suppose she could have the messages go
through her first and then only allow those to go on the list that pertain
to books and scanning, etc. I know many people enjoy tooting their own horn
or perhaps seeing their comments or knowing that many others are reading
them, but I would not miss having so many off topic messages.

Hi Marissa.
For the record, this is only my personal opinion but since you asked for feedback on the discussion board issue, I thought I'd provide it. I personally like the e-mail list... primarily because I find it easier to access my e-mail than a webbsite. But it's a personal thing because my computer just downloads all of my e-mail so it's right there on my hard drive waiting for me. So I like the list.
