Should 'right-hand' be hyphenated here? Following the book would suggest
that, yes, the expression 'right-hand' should be hyphenated. The problem
is that there is client resistance to the formulation.
Actually, _Read Me First_ does deal with this question. In Appendix C,
"Questionable Terms and Their Alternatives," the entry says:
right-hand side - Use "right side"
However, I certainly agree with others that you should only
use the physical location if some potential for confusion exists.
