Hey Melanie,
Most employers probably don't care. Still, bringing up some of your
interests, when asked about them, can sometimes make the difference between
getting interviewed and getting hired. We had one guy who talked about his
getting a book on astronomy published with someone in his second or third
round of interviews, and he wound up getting hired.
