Hi all -

Audible have cocked up in recent times, but don't want to admit it. I have had some lengthy exchanges with them, both by email and phone. It all began when they introduced the option to use the Amazon log in details [if an Amazon account already existed.] I couldn't get logged in, either using the Amazon log in, or the original Audible log in. Sometimes it would work, and other times it just didn't know me, and wouldn't let me log in, as half the buttons/links didn't work!

They wanted me to delete all cookies, and re-set Internet Explorer. They also suggested trying a different browser. I wasn't prepared to do any of these things, as all other websites worked well, and I was having no problems with IE. What they didn't tell me, was that they were still making changes, which have resulted in the current website amendments, and which, surprise surprise, now work fine for me, or perhaps I should be more guarded, and say last time I used the site, they did!

It is true that Audible will respond, if you contact them, but they don't listen as well as they use to, they have people with hard to understand accents, and who's English isn't great. I'm not saying this will be your experience, you may get a different agent, easier to communicate with, but this is just how the friendly approachable company that was Audible, is changing since becoming part of the beast that is Amazon -

Andy

Hi Julie,
I am also having trouble in that the "play" button does nothing so I can't
even get as far as getting a book! I normally only take my free credit one
so I don't experience the full buying procedure. I now have 3 free credits
and can't get any of them.
I only go on every other month to get these so I don't know how long this is
going on.
Aedan.

Has anybody been unable to download books from the Audible UK site lately?
If so, is there a work around with Jaws? When I press enter on the download
link, nothing happens and I'm just taken back to the library.

I am told that there is some sort of sub menu and to press pass key and
spacebar to adtivate it. What is the pass key I need to press?

I'm really frustrated as I've been able to download books happily for years
till now.

If anybody can help, I'd be very much obliged. I've sent an email to
Audible but don't anticipate a satisfactory reply, just the bog standard
one.

Thanks and best wishes, a very frustrated Julie.
