[access-uk] Re: Guide Dpog complaints

Andy
I can understand your anxiety as I am a Guide Dog Owner myself. Your e-mail gave me cause for concern so I too have been in touch with GDBA and requested that you shuld have a visit as soon as possible and before next week. I am confident that someone from the Glasgow office will give you a call in the morning. Any more problems Andy and you can contact me at eleanorburke@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx or if you want to give me a call tonight let me know your telephone number off list and we can have a chat. I have no problem in phoning you tonight. To e-mail me just press Enter where my e-mail address is written and hopefully your computer is set up so that your e-mail client will open, if you use Outlook Express or Outlook. I am confident you know how to manage to write to me off list Andy.

Hi Eleanor.

I managed to get through to her secretary, Jane, who sounded very nice. I Made a lot of noise and threats about seeing a lawyer but failed to get anyone's attention. My local center phoned just afterwards offering a home visit next Monday, so If I'm not killed by a big bus before then, then perhaps the GDBA will finally do something about my dog walking onto main roads.

Incidentally, the woman who responded from the Glasgow office told me that she thought it was not quite a good idea to take my dog into Glasgow during the festive season stating that the streets were very busy at this time of the year.

This just fills me with confidence and actually confirms my low opinion and faith in Guide Dogs.

I hate to complain too much in case I'm barred from getting another dog in the future, but honestly, up here in Scotland, the service has deteriorated dreadfully over the 15 years or so that I've been a member.

I phoned ten days ago telling the Glasgow office that my dog was walking me into busy traffic and that I was extremely anxious and concerned. They did not even respond until I got onto the C E office this afternoon.

I'm so angry with them but as I said, I'd hate to be barred from another dog later because of predujuice or discrimination.

Very best wishes.
Andy.

Andy there is a process to be gone through really if it is a complaint. She is at the head office in burghfield Common, Reading, RJ7. Sorry I cannot remember the rest of the post code but without being funny you would find it on the GDBA website or just give them a call at the head office and they will let you know.

Don't with to write to my local office, but rather, the Directors office. Anyone any idea of her address please.

Very best wishes.

Andy.
