Hi Derek I am well aware that it isn't always the dog, and that the owner and other circumstances have to be taken into account. But my point is that GDBA are always so quick to blame the owner rather than the dog. And if GDBA are suggesting to Andy that he shouldn't go into Glasgow at this time of year with his dog, then I have to ask myself what the purpose of having a dog is? That's all. I don't want a big debate about it as this list isn't the forum for doing so. I am simply saying you can't have a dog per occasion, and that I would want a dog to work in several environments for me as indeed mine did. You're having a laugh!!" I am yes, because you have missed the point. Smiles Not all guide dog owners can safely manage very busy conditions. And, not all blind people can cope with a guide dog, just as not all blind people can manage to get out alone. It's like saying if you show someone how to use Jaws, and the student does not follow your instructions, are you to blame when things go seriously wrong? It's same thinking with a guide dog. Yes, sometimes the dog is at fault, but not always. Sometimes it's the user at fault, if they don't follow the instructions they have been given.
