Andy it is great to hear you being so positive tonight. Hope you are now sorted with Baker. Like Jackie said earlier and others too, what's good for one is not necessarily good for another.

Best wishes.

Oh Kevin.

You'd be a very sad individual to cuddle up in front of a coal fire with your white cane!

I've had three dogs now and although I do occasionally enjoy the freedom of using a cane, the love and affection I receive from my dog is incalculable. I just love having a dog. I feel very important when walking in Glasgow. I know people are looking at me and Baker as we negotiate our way through busy streets. As I said in a previous message. whither we like it or not, we dog owners are all reps for the GBBA. I just love having a guide dog and suppose I'm probably going to have one until I'm unable to walk. A dog makes such a difference and of course, there is the social interaction which normally comes with having one. IA white cane is pretty cool but in my opinion, there is simply no comparison.

I would have to say that I agree in the most that guide dog training has gone down in the last 10 years or so.

I am on the replacement list and I am still waiting after 20 months it's because of the breed that I want they did have a dog that they thought would suit me but I have been informed that this dog is not up to the standard that I would want, It is showing considerable aggression and they might I quote might have to concidder regecting the said dog.

I used to hate the white stick and I have been without a dog for a few years of my own choice now I now love the stick and am considering taking my name off the replacement list.

You can fold the stick up and you don't have to feed it lol.

Just what I think.
