[windows2000] Re: Sus and apache?

Chillisoft has been around for years (at least since ASP 2). I've seen
Apache servers running VBScript/JScript ASP applications thru Chillisoft
up constantly for over 240 days (no reboots) -- that's almost a year!
How long is the longest you've ever had a Windows machine (production
server) running without a reboot?

Does anyone know of anything for ASP.Net in Apache? I must admit that
VisualStudio.Net is the nicest object-oriented web development
environment I've ever seen (even though .Net is a 1.0 technology) -- if
you could just compile those ASP.Net pages for an Apache environment
it'd be a delight.

Isn't NASDAQ run on IIS?

Alfonso

I agree Ray. =20

One of my friends used Apache only at his last job. He would rant and =
rave about how much better it was than W2K. Well he ended up doing some
=
consulting for my company (coincidentally).......and we are a W2K shop =
so he needed to learn about W2K....Let's just say he was amazed at how =
quick tasks can be accomplished and he is now a convert. Bottom line is
=
W2K comes working right out of the box, but if you don't know what you =
are doing, you can thoroughly screw it up very easily. Where as Apache
=
is initially much harder to set up, thus deterring much of the crowd who
=
would screw it up. Just my opinion....

Ha! I think what Alfonso means to say is "I never pay any attention to
=
what
Ray says on this list. If I did, I'd realize that he HATES wizards and
=
all
that other stuff that stupifies things and that he does everything at =
the
command prompt when possible."

But, yeah, that's not to say that I know anything about Apache. I =
don't.
But I still know what I know about IIS! And any time anyone says 2000 =
or
IIS or whatever is unstable, that means that the person has only =
experienced
servers that were setup by jackasses.
