Hi Mairead
This sounds very strange.
If you go into Crome and press insert and V and down arrow to the option
Screen Track Virtual Cursor and see if it is checked or unchecked. It is
checked in my settings.
This option controls whether or not JAWS causes the screen to track the virtual
cursor.
When JAWS does this, sighted users can more easily tell where you
are on the Web page. Since Web pages do not have a cursor, like Microsoft Word
does, this tracking feature works to keep the content you are viewing on
Joan Ann.

Thanks Cearbhall for your reply. I have went through the info u emailed me and
all seems to be working there. I don’t think I am explaining my issue very well
but it’s a difficult 1 to explain. When I use Google Chrome on my windows 10
laptop it’s like there is a visual thing following me and highlighting
everything as I navigate a webpage and only seems to effect me when I get to an
edit box or something, it highlights it and when I get out of it it jumps me
all over the page. My mouse is turned off so I am not accidently pressing that.
I have tried using Microsoft edge and there is no visual thing following me
around on screen and selecting every area I go to there but it’s like the tesco
Website was very different to use with that browser as I wasen’t finding half
the options I should be finding.

Hi Mairead,
Could you run through the instructions in the link below and see if
forms mode behaves properly or not?
I cannot find any instruction to use escape to exit forms mode but I
may be mistaken.

Subject: [vip_students] Windows 10 and Jaws
Hi all,
Recently I have purchased a Windows 10 laptop, I am using Jaws 19 but
when I am navigating the internet the cursor seems to jump around the
page a lot and sighted friends have told me the cursor seems to be
highlighting different parts of the page as well. For example, when I
am doing my grocery shop on the Tesco Website once I go into a forms
mode area Jaws seems to stay stuck in that area even when I press
escape to go out of forms mode and Jaws jumps up to the top of the
page again. I wonder is this happening because I use the short cut key
sometimes to turn on/off Windows narriater?
Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.
Regards
