Sorry, Mairead, I have been answering a query from Maureen and put her name in
by mistake.
It sounds as if there is a highlighting issue and something that is causing
JAWS to jump to something like an edit box or combo box of some identifiable
feature of the web page.
What you describe is something that I have not experienced before and so I
would love to tackle it and see what exactly is happening. I am housebound at
the moment and this is just to time to get stuck in!
I have both JAWS and NVDA;
I have Firefox, Google Chrome, and Edge;
I am using Windows 10 on the desktop but I don't think that will be
significantly different from the way it operates on the laptop for our purposes
here.
Is this something that you only experience with the Tesco site? If so, could
you send me the web address you use for Tesco so that I get the same web page
that you are looking at.
If you get it on any other sites it would be helpful if you could send me those
addresses as well.
I notice that JAWS keeps separate configurations for each application. In other
words, it can be set to behave differently for Edge, Chrome and Firefox. This
would mean that you might find a web page appears quite different when viewed
in any of these browsers using JAWS.
We should be able to find that out easily enough with a few trials.
Would you like to give me a go at it?

Thanks Cearbhall for your reply. I have went through the info u emailed me and
all seems to be working there. I don’t think I am explaining my issue very well
but it’s a difficult 1 to explain. When I use Google Chrome on my windows 10
laptop it’s like there is a visual thing following me and highlighting
everything as I navigate a webpage and only seems to effect me when I get to an
edit box or something, it highlights it and when I get out of it it jumps me
all over the page. My mouse is turned off so I am not accidently pressing that.
I have tried using Microsoft edge and there is no visual thing following me
around on screen and selecting every area I go to there but it’s like the tesco
Website was very different to use with that browser as I wasen’t finding half
the options I should be finding.

Hi all,
Recently I have purchased a Windows 10 laptop, I am using Jaws 19 but
when I am navigating the internet the cursor seems to jump around the
page a lot and sighted friends have told me the cursor seems to be
highlighting different parts of the page as well. For example, when I
am doing my grocery shop on the Tesco Website once I go into a forms
mode area Jaws seems to stay stuck in that area even when I press
escape to go out of forms mode and Jaws jumps up to the top of the
page again. I wonder is this happening because I use the short cut key
sometimes to turn on/off Windows narriater?
Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.
