hi folkshad an acre a few years ago, believe that's the model we are talking about with the wireless problem. had same difficulty but i kind of remember my brother getting it sorted using the function and the f1 or f2 key
.this would make sense as i am told by my instructor that on the acer model i had there was a key on the function key row which had an aerial icon and it was press in conjunction with the function key or the control key .
I reckon you need sighted assistance to find that aerial key then depending on the following:1 if the aerial key sign has no box around it you press that key with the control key to turn the wireless on.
2 if the aerial key icon has a box around it then you press it with the function key , the key one to the right of the left control key.
secondlythere are some laptops that have an actual switch on the body or chassis whereby you can physically turn wireless on or off.
alternatively have you contacted the computer model website with the query. regards Paul H----- Original Message ----- From: "Paul Traynor" <paul.traynor@xxxxxxx>

If configured correctly then wireless connection should just come on. It can sometimes disconnect for some reason. If you have a wireless connection that requires you to connect via a desktop icon then assign a shortcut key too itif this is what you mean.Again if a special icon exists on the desktop for you to enter on and type in a user name etc or just simply to open up and then hit enter on a connectbutton, why not place a copy of that shortcut in the programs menu/startup folder.
